Directory, Learn and Parking now in the UR Mobile App

There are some nifty things in the UR Mobile App that you might not know about.

UR Mobile is available for iPhone, iPod Touch, Android and Blackberry devices. Also via the web at http://m.rochester.edu.

1. Faculty/Staff directory – allows you to search and directly add someone to your contacts.

2. Blackboard Mobile Learn –  you don’t need a separate App to access Blackboard Mobile Learn course information, it’s now also available from within the UR Mobile app.

3. Medical Center Parking Availability– you can see how many spaces are available in any Medical Center parking lot.

Update to Blackboard Mobile Learn App – New Features

Blackboard has released an update to the Mobile Learn app and there are a number of nifty new features available in the Mobile Interface.

1. You can “Favorite” courses. Just tap the star next to the course. Then under the Starred button, you’ll have a short list of courses.
2. Courses Dashboard (iPad) shows Announcements and Notifications for all courses.
3. Threaded Discussions
4. Instructors can add text items and image files from photo library or take a photo to attach to a Content area, Discussion thread or Journal entry.
5. Students can add image files from photo library or take a photo to attach to Discussion threads and Journal entries.
6. Mobile Login module with Remember Me option.

Don’t forget to make sure you’ve installed the most up to date Mobile Learn app from the Apple App Store.

Blackboard at the University of Rochester is available via WiFi networks through Apple mobile devices, iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch.

Blackboard Mobile Learn unavailable, Saturday 2/19, 3AM-5AM

Blackboard Mobile Learn services will be unavailable, Saturday February 19 between 3AM and 5AM while Blackboard performs system maintenance. This affects the Mobile Learn App for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.

Blackboard Mobile Learn now available for University of Rochester

Access to the University of Rochester via the Blackboard Mobile™ Learn App is now active. You can find the App in the Apple iTunes® App Store. Once you’ve installed it, search for University of Rochester. Mobile Learn is available for iPhone®, iPod Touch® and iPad™ devices via a WiFi network connection. Not everything in your Blackboard course will be available through the App, but you should be able to view Announcements, Discussion Boards and documents.
